Hello and Welcome to the Talmidim/Discipleship program.  I am really looking forward to getting to know one another through these posts.  I hope you will feel like joining in too!  Please don’t be shy.

“The Prophesied Paradigm Shift Has Come” is a very thought-provoking topic.  I found there was a lot to think about.  Each week, I find that I like to listen to that week’s program and then “walk with it” throughout the following week until the next program.  What I mean by “walking with it” is praying throughout the week about different related ideas as they come up and just really have an ongoing conversation with the Lord about it.  Often while listening to a show, other Scriptures will come to mind, so I like to look them up, read them, re-read them in the larger context of the surrounding verses and such.

The Scripture that came to mind while listening to this program is:  “Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)

As I thought about the ideas presented in the program, prayed about things, and further considered Romans 12:2 I really sensed strongly that this is no time to get “too comfortable” with the way things are but rather that this is a time to work on deepening relationships (with other like-minded believers, with those who need to know Him and His truths, and with Him).

Father show us Your truth.  Draw us nearer that we may be transformed by You.  Make us Your special people.  Help us know and embrace Your will more fully each day.  Help us to let go of old, worldly thinking.  Help us to discern the difference.  Draw us into closer fellowship daily with You and Your Son, our Messiah.  Amen.

Sing and rejoice, daughter of Tsiyon; for, behold, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you,' says YHWH.  (Zechariah 2:10)

Hi,
I didn't get to hear Prophesied Paradigm Shift#1, something was wrong and it stopped 2 minutes into the program. However, I read the transcript and learned quite a bit. I am in the midst of a paradigm shift in theology so I can relate to this talk, and I have been wondering how to know if it is true. The three steps of prayer and seeking Yah , understanding the shift and finding out if it cuts the mustard; and then taking it to the word that will rightly divide the truth. This is where I am at this time in my life. When you talk of the time it can take for a shift; I think of the 25 years I have been under the wrong beliefs (once saved always saved , the rapture etc..). I have a 4 year old dd who needs my attention now so I will go and listen to the next sermon tomorrow. I am excited to be a part of this program and hope to contribute to the discussion soon.
shalom,
Kim

Good morning Kim.
" I have been under the wrong beliefs (once saved always saved , the rapture etc..)."
I think that you have to be careful.
I do not think that the intention of Elyahu ben David is to turn everything upside down and to teach you that everything that you have learned and that you know is wrong.
The shift is, as I understand it:
to read the Scriptures not with an Greco-Roman perspective but with a Jewish perspective which was the perspective of our Savior and also of his audience. Understanding wholly based on the old Testament.
To understand that Christianity separated from its Jewish roots starves to death and in fact is dead.
That we are in the very last days and that we must prepare ourselves as a community of followers/believers( talmidim) for the coming days where persecution will be very real.

I am of the reformed faith and I believe in the perseverance of the Saints (once saved always saved only by Yeshua strength and grace).
I have no difficulty in integrating both teachings together, they do not contradict each other.
So, Kim, do not yet trow the baby with the bath water!
For right now the only thing that you need to change is the light that you use to read the Bible.Using a different light, will give you a slightly and I think a  more accurate understanding of the Word.
Please get in the habit to pray for this ministry and its leaders.
Thank you for being so enthusiastic.
    Bertrand

Rom 11:17 …and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not boast over those branches.

I would like to answer your concerns.
I think that you have to be careful.
I do not think that the intention of Eliyahu ben David is to turn everything upside down and to teach you that everything that you have learned, that you believe and that you know is wrong.
The shift is, as I understand it:
1.   To read the Scriptures not with an Greco-Roman perspective but with a Jewish perspective which was the perspective of our Savior and also of his audience. Understanding wholly based on the Old Testament.
2.   To understand that Christianity separated from its Jewish roots starves to death and in fact is dead.
3.   That we are in the very last days and that we must prepare ourselves as a community of followers/believers (talmidim) for the coming days where persecution and other plagues will be very real.

I too believe in the perseverance of the Saints (once saved always saved only by Yeshua strength and grace).
I have no difficulty in integrating this belief with what Eliyahu teaches; they do not contradict each other.
So, Kim, do not yet throw the baby with the bath water!

For right now the only thing that you need to change is the light that you use to read the Bible.
Using a different light, will give you a slightly and I think a  more accurate understanding of the Word.
Also as a part of this community you have some obligations.
1.   You have to hold the leadership of this ministry accountable for its teaching:
Act 17:11 now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
Listen or read the teaching.
If at some point it seems to disagree with what the Word tells you, pray about it, read/listen again the teaching and the Word, if the doubt persists send us a question, asking us to explain ourselves.
2.   Pray for this ministry and its leaders. The leaders of this ministry are just like you: human and sinners, prone to mistakes. They need all the help they can get and also protection from the Enemy

Thank you for being so enthusiastic.

Amen Dawn!  I stand with you in that prayer!  Discernment in these days is something we all need.  I, too, am excited about what you're doing here on this website and on your radio program.

As I listened to the message about paradigm shifts, I had to laugh.  I come with a "corporate America" background and I can remember (vaguely) when "paradigms" and "paradigm shifts" became the new corporate buzzwords for change.  The implication was change or die.  Hmmmm..........

It was a bit discouraging in the beginning of the message to consider how long it took and how much pain and suffering was involved in the paradigm shifts used in your illustrations.   I pray that the LORD will be quicker to bring the needed "shifts" in HIS people!   Embarrassed

On the other hand, the internet is my sole source of what's going on around the world and I'm blessed to say that I've met people all over that are hearing HIS call and wondering what it's all about.  I thank HIM for people like Eliyahu and Dawn that are working to bring understanding to those of us that are scattered like grains of rice all over the earth.

Blessings in the Name of Y'shua and for HIS sake!

SueJean
