I have also rejected this Easter business (day after tomorrow) which has nothing to do with Yahshua's resurrection!

Have you?
I attend a local church that advertises its self as being "Apostolic" in their belief system (a group of really wonderful people), but they have no clue as to what an apostolic style/type of worship/fellowship gathering is all about. I have suggested a course in church history and the foundational principles of the Christian (Messianic) faith in order to become more aware of our religious, cultural and historical heritage. These suggestions that have been made over the past year have been met with something less than what I would identify as enthusiasm.
On another forum I posted the following comment early last week:
While everyone is preparing to celebrate Easter, I am preparing to celebrate Purim (Remember the book of Esther?). Pesach (Passover) is not for another month yet. So, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus a full month before He was crucified seems a little silly to me. Or, am I the only one who thinks that there is something wrong with that picture?
Anyway, according to our calendar, this year Resurrection Sunday (Easter) falls on Monday, April 28th. For me, I plan to celebrate this event with some Messianic friends. Then, there is the counting of the Omer! Now, that is always real challenge! Enjoy!
-------------------------
Added note: The best I have come up with so far is that Resurrection Day (the resurrection taking place during the first daylight hour after the start of the day after Pesach) and is always counted as the first day of the first week of counting the Omer - these weeks being counted independent of calendars. That means that Shavuot will start on the evening of June 8th (6 Sivan), and being "fully come" on June 9th, followed by a seventh day lunar Shabbat
Hope all of that makes sense. :
